Christmastime In Disneyland

On Monday December 16, we flew to Long Beach, California to start our adventures in Disneyland for the week. We took the afternoon flight at 1:30 which was heavenly. We usually do the morning flight and that is such a rush and scramble and getting up early craziness. I absolutely loved having the morning to finish packing, making sure the house was all in order and having my brother pick us up at 10:45 instead of 8am. Steve was able to drive downtown and get his haircut before we had to be to the airport.

Flying with children is a whole different world. This was Emma's second time flying and our second time getting through the security line. This time around we didn't have to deal a blow out and a mean TSA agent. We got right through the line and found something to eat. We met up with my parents at the gate. The best part of having kids is getting to board earlier so we can get settled. Emma was getting tired as we had past her nap time but as soon as we got in the air, she fell asleep. California was 80 degrees when we stepped off the plane! We arrived at the Grand California Hotel and were able to get into our room right away. We put our stuff away, had a drink and headed over to Disneyland.

First ride of the trip was Pirates of the Caribbean! One of our favorites to go on. Emma tensed up on the 2 drops but did great otherwise. We wandered around the park and looked at the shops and watched the parade.

We had more drinks and dinner at the Uva Bar in Downtown Disney. We had some serious discussions on moving to California to get away from the terrible air quality and snow. We absolutely love being in the warm climate year round and to live in Southern California and be able to go to Disneyland all the time.

The next day we dressed Emma up in her Tinkerbell costume and took her to see Tinkerbell. She looked so incredibly cute in her costume. I wish she would have stood up on her own so I could get a better picture.

We went to Toon Town and rode Roger Rabbit's ride, Gadgets's Coaster and ate lunch. Papa bought Emma her first souvenir Sorcerer Mickey. She loves her stuffed characters and animals.

A little ride around the world in a boat is always a great way to relax. It's a Small World is decorated in holiday decor and is so beautiful. There is so much to look at that you have to ride it multiple times just to take it all in.

Fantasy Land adventures on Snow White and Pinocchio

My cute little Minnie Mouse!

Hanging out with Grammy and Papa on the bed. Rolling around and learning to go off the bed backwards.

California Adventures was decorated beautifully also. Cars Land had such fun decorations. Tire Christmas trees, hub cap christmas trees and Route 66 sign christmas trees.

My dad was able to get a lot of bonding and cuddles in with Emma. When she is at my parents house, she usually won't go to him. My dad was in heaven getting all the loves from Emma now. He carried her everywhere. She slept on him a lot throughout the days and at night.

I decided that I could ride Screamin' California Coaster with Steve. And as usual I regretted that ride before it even ended. I was so sick that I was puking and had to go back to the room to lay down.

Our family photo under the Christmas Tree in the Grand California Hotel. We headed over to the Uva Bar for dinner again. We wandered Downtown Disney and saw the Lego building with the Prince from Sleeping Beauty fighting Malificent off. They had another beautifully decorated tree in the middle of an ice skating rink.

We took the Monorail in to Disneyland and then took the train over to New Orleans Square. It was fun riding the train with Emma and seeing all the people and part of the parade go by.

On Thursday, Emma woke up throwing up. We heard her in the pack n play making these weird sounds and it turned out she was sick. This was the first time she has ever been sick. It was the saddest thing in the world to watch her throw up and not understand why this was happening. She threw up 3 times that morning. It broke our hearts. As we all started to get up, my dad woke up and started to puke also. They had all the cuddles and love the day before and now were sharing sickness. It was the better day to be sick because it was raining all day. We stayed at the hotel until noon then Steve, my mom, Emma and I ventured out to Tomorrowland. It seemed to have stopped raining when we left to go over there but then started to rain again. We headed back to the hotel where Steve and I went down to the hot tub. My mom stayed with Emma and my dad. What a way to end the vacation. Emma wouldn't take her bottles anymore. She drank some water in the morning and eat cheerios all day but no milk.

Our last day, my dad stayed at the hotel to keep sleeping and resting while the rest of us hit Disneyland up. We did the Jingle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean all in 90 minutes. We headed back to the hotel, grabbed our luggage and headed to the airport.

Emma got one more souvenir, Minnie Mouse. We came home to icy roads and freezing cold. But we were glad to be home.
We love going to Disneyland and can't wait to go again.
