This little guy is growing up way too fast!!! He is the happiest little man I know. It takes a lot to make him upset. He is on to eating lots of yummy things in the past month.
~ started full on crawling at 6 1/2 months
~ loves any baby food except peas
~ is still waking 1-2 times per night
~ is in 6-9 month clothes
~ crawled up the stairs at 7 months old exactly
~ absolutely loves his sister
~ loves bath time
Cousin Riley came over a couple days in August while her dad worked. Lots of fun cousin time and play time. Riley is so good with them both....some day she won't want to be bothered with her little cousins. Emma calls her "iley".
Edge is off exploring our house now quite a bit. Baby gates went up very quickly after one morning of going down a step. He has regular speed and turbo speed crawling. It is so fun to watch him get around everywhere. He also is very good at finding any little crumb on the floor. When Emma was little, my two dogs were still alive and kept the floor somewhat crumb free. Edge loves the walker with the little door that opens just like Emma did. He also squeals very loudly...ear piercingly loud.
At the end of August, we took a trip to Disneyland with my parents. On the flight out we just had Emma sit in the airplane seat on her own....that was a mistake. Once she figured out how to get out of the seat belt, it was a neverending battle between parents and toddler. Thankfully, we were surrounded by parents and children so we weren't the only ones that had any upset children. Sigh of relief was breathed. Edge was much easier since he doesn't go anywhere yet and only gets upset if he is hungry or tired.
We were all rooming in one room with my parents at the Grand California but our room wasn't ready when we got there. Off to Disneyland we went and straight to the Hungry Bear for some delicious fried green tomato sandwiches. Emma wanted nothing to do with food, there was way too much to look at and explore. My parents finished their food and took Emma to ride Winnie the Poo. We caught up with them just as they were coming out of the tunnel.
We split up and went to Disney California where we ran into the parade they were having. Emma loved watching the parade and all the dancers. They are so interactive with the kids, however, Emma wouldn't engage back once they gave her attention.
Flik's Flyers was Emma's all time favorite ride this trip. She wanted to just keep riding them. Every time we would come back in to Bug's Land, she would see the ride and squeal with delight. Good thing Steve has a good stomach and can go around and around without getting sick.
We started off in Car's land the next morning with breakfast at Flo's and then Steve and I went on Racer's. As usual it was super fun. Single rider is the fastest way to enjoy those rides.
Our last day in Disneyland also happened to be our Magic Morning where you get in to the park a hour before it opens to the public. We did Buzz's and Steve and Emma did the spaceships.
After the spaceships ride, we walked out to the center where the castle is and the amount of people waiting to go beyond the ropes was incredible. We made a mad dash to Fantasyland before they were let in. Eventually we rode Snow White, Pinocchio, Small World, and Storybook Land. We did Pirates of the Caribbean which Emma loved. We definitely didn't ride nearly as many rides as we have in years past. It was a lot of work to take 2 little kids to the park.
We rode the train which Emma was so excited to ride but then looked like she was sleeping under her sunglasses.
We went back to California and Steve took Emma on Mater's tow truck ride. The first time he tried to take her she had a melt down. This time it was successful. She loved it and had a smile the whole time.
Then Steve took her on the Ladybug ride. She calls the ladybugs "bees". This ride spins you around a lot and they wouldn't let Steve hold Emma on his lap so they were sliding across the seat quite a bit. But as you can see in the last picture, she is a having a grand time!
Then we went on Heimlich's Chew Chew train with my parents. As you can see, this train is very exciting!
Everyday we played in the park but the ultimate hit was the pool. I didn't get any pictures of us at the pool. Emma was in love with the slide and just would go down it nonstop. Edge loved loved loved the water. He would just splash splash splash the whole time til he was purple. Then after swimming each day, it was back to the room where we would clean up and the kids would crash for a couple hours. We ended up getting a 2nd room and it was a much better situation for all.
Then it was back home and back to our routine. This time we brought Emma's car seat on the plane and that made it much easier/relaxing to be on the plane. Edge crashed and Emma played on the i-pad.

Oh my gosh!!! The cousin pics are so cute! I love them. Disneyland sounded like and looked like an awesome, amazing trip. The kids were all smiles from ear to ear. It's a good thing they love the water and loved the pool... since you have one in your backyard and all. I love reading up on the kids and the adventures they bring to your life. You need to either text me pics more often, post some on FB or on Instagram so I can soak them up some more. I totally love seeing them. Love ya!
