Bryce Canyon

Shirley and I went down to tiny little town named Hatch. It is about 8 miles from Panguitch and right by Bryce Canyon. Since Shirley was headed down there for a family reunion, she thought it would be a fun time to go visit our friend Brooke. Brooke used to work with us on 4N until she decided to get back to her roots of country living. It was fun to see her and her family. Scott and her are so happy together. And their two little boys, Colton and Will, look just like twins except for their size. It's amazing the different personalities those two have. Colton has nonstop energy and Will is pretty much chill about everything. Kimberlee had fun playing with the boys.
We met up with Brooke when we arrived and checked into our hotel. We had lunch together and then went to check out the house they are building. You can see Brooke's brothers house from their front porch and if you drive up the road more her parents house is behind them. Her parents house is gorgeous. They used Knotty Alder for all the trim, molding, doors, and cabinets. It's incredible inside. After we checked out their homes, we went for a ride on their land and eventually drove up Proctor Canyon which takes you to Tropic Reservoir. It was a long drive but incredibly beautiful.
Shirley was so worried about Kimberlee on this trip since it was her 1st long car trip. She did great even though she didn't nap at all on the way down. She didn't sleep at all until we went back to our hotel. We stayed at the New Bryce Canyon Inn. It's not very new. Shirley got a picture of it so you'll have to see it on her blog. Anyways.....
We were supposed to have breakfast with Scott and Brooke but little Colton got sick. He had a frog voice the day before with us. So they stayed and Shirley, KD and I went to Ruby's Inn for breakfast. It was really good. Buffet breakfast with tons of goodies....mmmmm. After breakfast we headed up to Bryce Canyon. We decided we would drive to the top of the canyon and then as we headed down we would stop at the lookouts. Kimberlee enjoyed getting out of the car but she hated to go back in. Poor little one!!! We had delicious pie at the Pines Restaurant and then headed down Red Canyon to meet up with Shirley's family. We took a few pictures of us all as a group then it was off I go to Salt Lake City. Next time we will go for the whole weekend with Shirley and Brandon. It was quite the drive back. I even had to pull over and sleep for 2o minutes because I was so tired.
